There is one less member in our family as we start the New Year. Two days after Christmas our beloved pom, Sebastian, succumbed to Kidney failure. He had been diagnosed with Diabetes a year and a half ago so we gave him insulin twice a day religiously. During that time he lost his sight completely but still continued to play with his poodle brothers. Having gotten him about 10 years ago as a nine month old puppy, he gladly came into our family to take his place as brother to Joshua, our shelty chihuahua mix. They got along famously and when Joshua was stolen out of our yard about 6 years ago, Sebastian was devastated at his loss.
Flyers were posted and notices read on the radio to no avail, Joshua was gone. Sebastian moped around and acted so lonely that we began a halfhearted search for a playmate for him. Answering an add for poodle puppies, we went to check them out. Little did we know that my husband fell in love with one and I fell in love with another so the owners sold us both of them for 50 dollars. Kind of a buy one, get one free type of thing.
Once we brought the two little pups home, Sebastian seemed a bit confused. After all, they were only 3 months old. Once he got used to them, they were inseparable. They followed Sebastian everywhere.
Now that Sebastian is gone, I can't get away from little Tank and Munchkin. You can see that they are missing their big brother Sebastian.
So, when you're finished reading this, go give your four legged family members some extra love, in memory of all that
have gone before.
